Trying Something New

I borrowed a CRF 50 from a friend to see if Colton was ready for a bigger bike. I started it, clicked into 3rd gear, and off he was like he had ridden one before. He is ready for this size bike, but the power isn't as responsive as his 2-stroke PW50. He rode it for awhile, jumped it a couple of times, then asked to ride his. He rips it up on his little bike. He is now pulling up as he goes off the jumps, and gains a few inches in the air.

The date is getting close for the new addition. Jody went on disability as of today. She is getting more and more uncomfortable, but she is doing well. We are almost done with the babies room. I will post some pics of the room when it is done.

Practice Makes Perfect

Every minute Colton gets he wants to ride his bicycle. So the the other night, Colton asked me take pictures of him riding wheelies. He must of done this 50 times that night. Thought everyone would enjoy the pics. Colton is such a character!

Race On!!!!

OK, We got Colton ready on Sat to go practice at the local track. Conveniently, the weather decided to reach 100 degrees both days. He was super excited to get on the track. He did amazingly well at practice. It took him a few spills, and some slow speeds, but once he got the hang of the track he did great.

RACE DAY:
We pulled the motorhome in about 7:30 am, got everything set up, and did some practice laps. Coltons first race was at 10:30. Boy was I nervous, but very confident he would do good. One of the videos below is his first start. Out of 10 riders, Colton came in 4th!!! Awesome for a first timer. Thanks to Mamaw for showing support on the sidelines. He was the youngest racer of the day. He was racing against kids that were 7 yrs old and younger. He did lay it down once during the first race trying to get around a downed rider. I know he would have placed a few spots better if he didn't lay it down. How exciting it is during the final 5 minutes before the gate drops. Revving engines, last minute adjustments, going thru the course with the rider, the race starter goes down the line pointing at each rider to see if they are ready, then BAM!, the gates drop and there off. Pure adrenalin, at least for the Parents. Colton ran great in his second moto. He had a better start and was in the middle of the pack as they hit the first turn. He really pushed hard on his second race, and was giving it his all to catch the riders in front of him. After the checkered flag dropped, all of the riders lined up and received a trophy for a job well done. I don't know who is more proud of that little trophy, Colton or Jody and I. As we were packing it up to head home, Colton said he would like to race again. That's my boy!!!

W O W ! ! ! !

I know, I need to post more to the blog than just Colton. So, I will talk about him in a minute. A big thanks goes out to my Mom and Lisa and everyone else who helped out with Jody's baby shower. About 25 people showed up for the turn out. Jody and I appreciate everything everybody does for us. We are blessed.

Colton and I went to a local racetrack for a practice day. He did amazing. He is a natural. All I have to say is check out the pics. We had a great day.
